Dearest Sisters and Brothers in the Risen Jesus Christ,

Inspiration from Prayers and Meditation by Catherine Parr.

Gather, O Lord, my senses and the powers of my soul together in yourself. Pardon me and forgive me as often as I pray without concentrating on you. Many times, I am not really at the place where I am standing or sitting. My thoughts carry me to some other place. I am where my thought is. I love what I think about.

I love heaven, I speak gladly of the things of God.

If I love the world, I love to talk of worldly things.

If I love the flesh, I imagine things that please the flesh.

If I love my soul, I delight in talk about things that are for my soul’s health.

Whatever I love, I gladly hear and speak of it. I fantasize about it. Jesus was right when he said, “For where you treasure is, there your heart will be also.”

Good Shepherd Rogation Day with an Outdoor Beating the Bounds Celebration

This Sunday is Good Shepherd Sunday, so we’ll be celebrating with an in-person 30-minute outdoor service beginning following the 10:15 service. We will begin at 11:45 AM to allow members who join by Facebook Live to arrive at the church. Gary Gee has been receiving education on Catechism and part of his assignment is the organization of this event. If you want to attend the 10:15 AM service, please call the church office to reserve your seat.

Bishop Field will be our guest homilist, the last time he will be with us as our bishop. Dean Don Compier, and Deacon Brock Slabach will also be in attendance.

(If you can’t join in person, it will be recorded and available via our website shortly after the service concludes.)

Regional Confirmation will be Saturday, April 24, 2:00 PM at St. Andrew’s, Kansas City

This service is limited to presenters, confirmands, and family. Thank you for praying for confirmands Tim and Janet Smith, and Sandy Rose Wallace from our church family.
