Dear Sisters and Brothers in the Risen Jesus,
Connection: There are eight more days in our shortest “green season” of the Liturgical Year B which began on January 6th. I’m cordially inviting all members to investigate two links during the month of February. My hope is that you’ll find them enriching to the point they become one of your favorites.
The first link (button) is the Episcopal News Service which reports ways our branch of the Jesus Movement is addressing current events around the corner and the globe.
The second is to celebrate Black History Month with video clips from members of the West Missouri Diversity Committee who remember those brave women and men who illumined the need for racial justice in our American culture. This week Fr. Chas Mark’s acknowledges a predecessor of his, Rev. Edward Thomas Demby, who served as rector at St. Augustine’s, Kansas City in the early 1910’s before becoming a bishop. Thank you for spending time on these enriching links.
