Smile! Smile? Yes, Smile!
Did you know that your regular shopping habits can help Good Shepherd with donations? If you regularly buy items from Amazon, when you buy something, part of your purchase will be donated back to Good Shepherd! It doesn’t cost you a penny! How does it work? I’m glad you asked. There is a link to an Amazon page that answers all your questions which I have included at the bottom of this article. However, quite simply, you place an order through https://smile.amazon.com and a portion of that qualifying sale gets sent back to Good Shepherd.
I said “qualifying” because not everything qualifies for a smile donation. When you look at an item online, it will tell you whether it qualifies or not for a “smile” donation, and when you purchase a “qualifying” item, the AmazonSmile Foundation will donate 0.5% of the purchase price from your eligible AmazonSmile purchases to the charity of your choice. I personally have chosen Good Shepherd as my “smile” choice and have successfully had nearly $100 sent back to Good Shepherd!
AmazonSmile purchases unfortunately are NOT deductible because the donations are made by the AmazonSmile Foundation and not you. However, it doesn’t cost you a thing because you are making the purchase anyway through Amazon.
When you choose your charity, it’s a little hard to find because there are so many charities that the AmazonSmile Foundation supports. I would suggest when you search for it that you put “Church of the Good Shepherd Kansas City” in the search field. It should then be the first one listed after tapping on the “search” button.
If you have any questions, I’ll be more than happy to try and help, or just refer to this webpage, https://smile.amazon.com/gp/chpf/about/ref=smi_se_dshb_aas_saas which should answer most of your questions about the program!
