The event will feature talks by five other bishops of the Episcopal Church as well as lay people and priests, plus music by “praise bands” from around the country.
Cursillo (pronounced cur-SEE-oh) is a “short course on Christianity” that was founded by the Roman Catholic Church in Mallorca, Spain, in the 1940s. Cursillo, led by lay people with ordained spiritual advisors in attendance, comprises a three-day weekend that includes 15 talks and five meditations on topics of Christian piety, study, and action. There is also plenty of music and fun. The crux of the Cursillo experience, however, is the Fourth Day (i.e., the rest of the person’s life after the weekend).
Pre-registration is required for the August 21 event on Zoom. You may register at this link. You may also peruse the website for Episcopal Cursillo Ministry here.
