“And when was it that we saw you a stranger and welcomed you, or naked and gave you clothing? And when was it that we saw you sick or in prison and visited you?” And the king will answer them, “Truly I tell you, just as you did it to one of the least of these who are members of my family, you did it to me.”
Good Shepherd works to live into our baptismal covenant and answer Christ’s charge to help the “least of these” by supporting a number of organizations in our community. Currently the church supports the Shepherd Center of the Northland, Northland Assistance, and the Clay County Clothes Closet.
- Shepherd Center of the Northland is a charity that provides services to the elderly that reside in Clay County. Clients receive services designed to help them to remain independent in their own homes. Good Shepherd has a history of supporting their two major fundraisers, a wine tasting party in the fall and a dinner dance in the spring.
- Northland Assistance helps out with food, rent payment, utility bills, etc. for the needy of the Northland.
- Clay County Clothes Closet provides clothing to families in need in Clay County. Good Shepherd raises funds, donates clothing and provides volunteers for this very worth charity.
