A Note from Fr. Galen

Dearest Sisters and Brothers in the Risen Jesus,

God’s testimony brings life. We know that if something does not lead to life and flourishing, then it is not the testimony of God. This fact is written in Sunday’s Epistle from 1 John, “If we receive human testimony, the testimony of God is greater; for this is the testimony of God that he has testified to his Son. Those who believe in the Son of God have the testimony in their hearts. Those who do not believe in God have made him a liar by not believing in the testimony that God has given concerning his Son. And this is the testimony: God gave us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life. I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know that you have eternal life.”

Commentary: In a world of loud voices, God is often described as a whisper. The litmus test is this: does this make me more loving? Does this bring me closer to Jesus? Continual discernment helps us to regulate who we are listening to. The goal is to become more loving and more compassionate as we center our lives on Jesus and the things he cared about.

Reflective Question: Are the voices you and I surround ourselves shape our Christian identity?

We are back to three worship services a weekend.

  • In person Saturday night service at 4:30 PM.
  • In person Sunday early service at 8:00 AM.
  • In person and Facebook Live Sunday service at 10:15 AM.

Faithfully Yours,

Fr. Galen Snodgrass
